"Devil With Blue Suede Shoes" - Johnny was credited as executive producer for "Devil With Blue Suede Shoes" on Chuck E. Weiss' album Extremely Cool The album was released on February 2, 1999. Weiss was also a minority share-holder in The Viper Room, a popular nightclub in West Hollywood that Johnny once owned.
Rogue's Gallery: Pirate Ballads, Sea Songs & Chanteys - The idea for this compilation of sea songs was born from a fascination of pirate and sailor lore during the filming of Pirates of the Caribbean. Co-produced by Johnny and Gore Verbinski, the two-disk set features popular artists such as Bono, Sting and Nick Cave singing songs of the seas and the men who sailed them. Rogue's Gallery was released in August 2006.
Son of Rogue's Gallery: Pirate Ballads, Sea Songs & Chanteys - Johnny Depp and Gore Verbiniski are Executive Producers of this two-disc follow up to Rogue's Gallery: Pirate Ballads, Sea Songs & Chanteys (2006). It features teacks recorded by Tom Waits, Keith Richards, Iggy Pop, Nick Cave, Patti Smith, Sean Lennon and many others. Johnny contributes to two tracks: Track 1, "Leaving of Liverpool" (Shane MacGowan w/Johnny Depp & Gore Verbinski) and "The Mermaid Song" with Patti Smith, featured in The Rum Diary film and soundtrack. The release date for Son of Rogue's Gallery is February 19, 2013.
The Lone Ranger: Wanted - The Lone Ranger: Wanted is music inspired by The Lone Ranger. Released on July 2, 2013. it includes tracks from Iggy Pop ("Sweet Betsy from Pike"), and the Pogues' Shane MaGowan ("Poor Paddy on the Railway"). Jerry Bruckheimer is listed as Executive Producer, Gore Verbinski as Producer, and Johnny and Bruce Witkin as Arranger, Producers. Iggy Pop revealed he and Johnny collaborated on "Sweet Betsy from Pike". He told CNN, "[Johnny] called up about this and I think it was late in the game and he didn't have a great cut and with about two weeks to go he said: 'Come on, we gotta get this together so choose a song.' So I tried writing something but it's not my style and 'Sweet Betsy' is just a great great great song and he plays beautifully on it. I just had a great time doing that." Red Beans and Weiss - After an eight-year hiatus, Chuck E. Weiss' Red Beans and Weiss was the result of some encouragement from his friends Johnny Depp and Tom Waits, singer-songwriter and actor (Mr. Nick, The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus). Johnny and Waits are credited as executive producers. The album was released on April 15, 2014. The album is available for streaming on Anti- Records youtube channel.
