Welcome

I spent years trying to ignore Johnny Depp. Strange confession to see on a fan site, isn't it?

The truth is, I didn't even try very hard. The "21 Jump Street" teen idol image turned me off, and I just stopped paying attention. When I realized it was him in "Edward Scissorhands", I considered it a fluke and went on about my business. It wasn't until "Sleepy Hollow" in 1999 that I finally realized what I'd been missing.

Okay, so I'm an idiot.

Johnny Depp is an incredible actor, a fact reaffirmed every time I buy a DVD to catch up on what I've missed. He's come a long way from his teen idol days, and I've finally come to appreciate that.

And the more I learn, the more I find to like about him. I admire his ability to remain true to himself even in the glaring public eye; I respect the dedication to his craft which shows in his choice of film roles; and most of all, I appreciate the performances he has given, which will stand as some of the best of his or any generation.

This site is dedicated to the many talented performances of Johnny Depp and includes photos, sound files and information from his most memorable films.

Johnny Depp, formally known as John Christopher Depp the II, was born in Owensboro Kentucky on 1963 on June the 9th. He is a fantastic actor as well as a director, producer, screenwriter, and musician. Johnny Depp is close friends with Tim Burton and has worked with him in 7 films. Johnny Depp was nominated for numerous awards such as, an Academy Award (3 times). He has also won many awards such as, a Golden Globe and a Screen Actor Guild Award. Johnny Depp has won many more awards as well as captured the hearts of many fans. His family consists of mother Sue Palmer, father Johnny Depp Sr., sisters Debbie and Cristie, and brother Danny. Johnny Depp got his first guitar at the age of 12, and began playing in garage bands. Johnny Depp dropped out of high school to become a musician. He went to Los Angeles with his band The Kids. After ups and downs Johnny Depp played for the Rock City Angels for a short while. Johnny Depp was advised to pursue acting by actor Nicholas Cage via his first wife Lori Anne Allison.
